Villanova staff have received the following compliment from Vince and Liz McAvoy. Dear Jane and Staff, How can we thank you for all you have done for Michael over the fourteen years. We remember how in 2002 we had to make the very difficult decision as to what we could best do for Michael after he lost his dad. It was a very sad and worrying time for Vince and I. But as we have all seen, it was the best thing we could have done for him. While it took some time for Michael to settle, he did make it his home and the girls were wonderful to him. I guess you could say he lived the life of Riley. Right up until the time he passed away he had excellent health, not even a sniffle. Innisfail is truly blessed to have not one but two homes, where our loved ones can be cared for in their hour of need by loving and dedicated staff. Thank you everyone for caring for Michael. Vince and I really appreciate what you did for him and made life so much easier for us, knowing he was in good hands. Keep up the good work, Innisfail needs you. Our love and God bless you all. Vince and Liz McAvoy

The following letter has been received from Christine Bourke Activities Officer for Carinya Nursing Home. On behalf of all Carinya staff who attended our visit to your facility in September, we extend our sincere thanks for welcoming us and sharing knowledge. It was terrific to be able to tour your facility and exchange ideas and options of Activities to benefit residents. We certainly gained valuable knowledge that we can put into place a Carinya. Coming together was beneficial to all of us. It has such a positive outcome to be able to talk and share ideas, along with the challenges we all face daily. Working together can only be a positive for residents. We hope to continue our link and make it an annual event to visit each other and keep in touch. Please extend our sincere thanks to your DON and CEO for lunch……which was great……. and for taking the time to talk with us. We all enjoyed the day.

The RUCS program has written the following compliment. For many years I have worked in Nursing Homes (either as an RN, facilitator or researcher). I held grave fears for residents in Nursing Homes. That was until I encountered Warrina Innisfail. The atmosphere is calm, inviting and welcoming. Your whole establishment, staff, environment has set the benchmark high for others to shine to. It is a genuine caring atmosphere – everything a Nursing Home should be. Every one of you must feel proud of yourselves as it is no easy feat. You all work with compassion, dedication and care. You are all like family and that puts the residents at ease. We cannot thank enough for welcoming us, supporting us and treating us like family. I have been asked out of all of the Nursing Homes you go to which is the best. I don’t have to think about it. There is only one option and that is Warrina Innisfail. Well done and thank you – all of you.

This email is to formally thank you and all your staff for your skill, consideration and empathy in caring for my mother during her time with you all at Warrina. I appreciate all the help and advice you all gave me. But most importantly, all staff, without exception, who came into contact with my mother, tended to her needs with the utmost professionalism and empathy. My mother enjoyed her stay with you all very much and she really appreciated her interaction with nurses, nursing assistants, cleaners, therapists, admin staff and any others who assisted her.
You all deserve the highest accolades possible. Best wishes and see you all again somewhere, sometime, someday.
On behalf of the family I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff of Warrina for the excellent care of our much loved brother and uncle, Dutchy.
The support you have all provided was exceptional. This was from the initial application to yourself, which was quite daunting to me as I have never done previously; and then ongoing by your team and also Minnie and her team, to ensure that Dutchy felt that Warrina was his home and had the best care.
It has been difficult at times as none of us live close to Innisfail and especially myself being responsible for his financial and medical affairs. I always felt I could ring or contact you at any time and when I did I always received great support and many times over and above what I expected. This was extremely comforting for us.
We believe the community of Innisfail should be very proud of Warrina Aged Care facility and it would appear from the recent dreadful publicity in the news others across the nation could learn from you. It is obvious that the wonderful staff at Warrina make the difference!
We wish you continued success in what I am sure is a very challenging environment now to operate in.
Kind regards Sharyn Gordon
Compliment received from past resident family members – Mary Jonutz & Bernice Pagano
Flexi Care Unit received chocolates and a thank you card. Just a little note to you all to say thank you for the kindness and care you showed our wonderful father Les Smith. Although Dad was only with you for around 7 months. All of you played a big part of Dads daily life. It was difficult to watch our father deteriorate over the last year and a half. He was always grateful for what you would do for him. Bernice and I also would like to say a special thanks for assisting us with any query, request or help in relation to dad. Nothing was a problem for you all. A big thank you to each of you in Flexi Care Unit for the time and kindness you showed dad while he was with you in his final days. Thank you and as dad would say “thank you and god bless’.
