Yallambee Special Care Unit

he Yallambee SCU common areas are all located within easy access from our resident’s rooms and include attractive lounge and dining rooms. Residents can also relax and socialise in the comfortable sitting room or outside in the gazebo.

The common areas of the unit are attractively furnished with comfortable armchairs and lounges, wall art and occasional tables. Outdoor areas include comfortable settees and outdoor settings that can be configured for large or small gatherings.

Other features of the common areas include a piano, a sound system with a choice of CDs and a large screen TV for residents use with DVD/Video. Large floor to ceiling windows provide natural light to our common facilities and glass doors are utilised for external access to our landscaped grounds and gardens. Non-natural lighting includes attractive ceiling, recessed and wall-mounted lighting.

Individual Room Information

The unit comprises of single rooms (approx. 16m2 to 22m2) with private ensuite.

All rooms includes:

  • high quality bedroom furniture
  • electronic high/low adjustable beds
  • bedside tables with lockable drawers
  • built-in wardrobes with hanging space
  • occasional tables
  • in-build display cabinet
  • visitor chairs
  • lockable storage

Rooms at Yallambee SCU are all supplied with high quality bedding including pressure-relieving mattress, colour-coordinated linen and hypo-allergenic pillows. Sensor mats are fitted alongside the bed for the benefit of residents with dementia and mobility problems.

 

Other room fittings include nurse call-points and picture rails. All door and draw handles have been specially fitted for dexterity. Privacy is ensured with an entry way that shields the bed from immediate view from the doorway.

The room includes a private ensuite featuring colour-coded bathroom tapware, grab rails and 3-in-1 bathroom ducted heat /light/exhaust ceiling fixtures. The ensuite is within sight-line of the bed.

The rooms incorporate wide doors for ease of mobility and are protected with fly screens on all windows. The flooring is a high quality, stain resistant cushion-backed vinyl.

Heating and Cooling is provided by a centrally controlled reverse cycle air conditioning along with ceiling fans.

Large mid-floor to ceiling windows allows natural light into each room and views across to our beautiful, well-maintained gardens to the Warrina Lakes gardens. Each room has access to a courtyard.

The Yallambee SCU is in close proximity to the lounge and dining rooms, a sitting nook and the activities room. The rooms are also close to the facility entrance, treatment room, the nurses’ station and have access to the gardens of Warrina Innisfail.

Note: This shared room provides accommodation to one person only.

All of our common areas are maintained in good condition and a formal quality review of these areas is conducted regularly with minor repairs conducted as necessary.

Special Features

Specific features of the Yallambee SCU include facility pets and an aviary. The complex has on-site parking for visitors.

Pricing Information

Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.

The Maximum Refundable Accommodation payment (RAD) is $400,000.00 and the Maximum Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) is $86.58.

A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum payment. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly.

A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

The room is not offered on an extra service basis.

Currently the Maximum Permissible interest Rate is 8.15% (1st October 2023 – 31st December 2023).
