Getting Started

To inquire about residential aged care services within Warrina Innisfail, please contact Admissions Manager on 40302500
from Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm.


In the initial phone call, the Admissions Manager will ask a number of questions. 


Once this information is sourced the Admission Manager will arrange a face to face interview with the family member/s. 

This interview can take up to approximately 1 ½ hours and allows for discussions in regards to care and services, accommodation provided and costs involved.

Step 1 – Arrange an ACAT Assessment

Before you can access government funded aged care services [Warrina Innisfail], you must register with My Aged Care.

You may feel worried about discussing your care needs with someone you don’t know.

The My Aged Care staff are trained to talk to people in your situation and will help with any concerns you may have.

Your answers will help them understand your needs.

To register, call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 with your Medicare card ready.

With your consent, a client record will be created to register you with My Aged Care.

This will contain:
• Information about your needs
• Details of any assessment and/or service referrals
• Results of any assessment details of any aged care services you receive

STEP 2 – Arrange an Assets Assessments

You may be eligible for government assistance for you permanent residential accommodation costs. A Combined Assets and Income Assessment is required to determine your eligibility. This is conducted by the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) or Department of Veterans’ Affairs. For more information and to download the form, please visit

Step 3 – Arrange an ACAT Assessment

This form is required to apply for permanent or respite care with Warrina Innisfail and is to be completed with details of the person requiring care.
