Wahroonga Hostel
Residents have sole occupancy of a bed sitting room with private ensuite.
Each bed sitting room has a wardrobe and is provided with a bed, mattress, table and chair. Warrina Innisfail supplies bed spreads and all linen.
Bath toilet areas have ceramic floor tiling, shower recess with special accessories, wash basin and toilet .
A resident’s Personal Carer Call Button is installed in each room, ensuite and common areas.
On pressing the button, the number will register on the enunciator panel and on pagers worn by duty staff.
The building is designed for wheel chair access.
The Warrina Hostel features single bedrooms (avg. 14m2 each) with private ensuite.
All rooms includes:
Supplied with high quality bedding including colour-coordinated linen and hypo-allergenic pillows.
Other room fittings include nurse call-points, telephone connection availability, picture rails and access to Foxtel.
The private ensuites feature colour-coded bathroom tapware and bathroom hand rails designed to assist the vision impaired.
These ensuites are within sight-line of the bed.
The rooms are protected with fly screens on all windows and the flooring is a high quality, stain resistant cushion-backed vinyl.
Heating and Cooling is provided by an individually controlled reverse cycle air conditioner along with ceiling fans.
Large windows allow natural light into each room and views across to our beautiful, well-maintained gardens. Each room has access to a shared verandah.
The hostel’s rooms are all in close proximity to the lounge and dining rooms, a sitting nook and the activities room. The rooms are also close to the facility entrance, treatment room, the nurses’ station and have access to the gardens of Warrina Innisfail.
Note: This room provides accommodation to one person only.
The hostel’s common areas are all located within easy access from our resident’s rooms and include an attractive dining room with seating for up to 50 people. Residents can also relax in our sunroom and on the hostel’s large balcony. Socially, residents can participate in the many activities of our multi-purpose rooms.
Our common areas are furnished with high quality, comfortable armchairs and lounges along with occasional tables, bookcases filled with hours of reading and an indoor water feature.
Other features of the common areas include a piano and cards table. The facility even has its very own hairdresser. Large floor to ceiling windows provide natural light to our common facilities and glass doors are utilised for external access to our landscaped grounds and gardens. Non-natural lighting includes recessed down lights.
All of our common areas are maintained in good condition and a formal quality review of these areas is conducted regularly with minor repairs conducted as necessary.
Specific features of the Warrina Innisfail Hostel include raised garden beds, fish pond, water features, flag pole and kitchenettes for residential use.
The complex has a chapel and on-site parking for visitors.
A communal newspaper is delivered daily for the use of the residents at no extra charge.
The Maximum Refundable Accommodation payment (RAD) is $250,000.00 and the Maximum Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) is $48.36.
Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.
A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum payment. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly.
A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.
The room is not offered on an extra service basis.
Currently the Maximum Permissible interest Rate is 7.06% (1st January 2023 – 31st March 2023).
